My name’s Tida (like pita)! I’m a Joshua Tree wedding & elopement photographer and I am so freakin’ excited that you’re HERE, you’re ENGAGED, and you’re looking to get some photos to celebrate it! To tell you a lil about myself - I’m not just another photographer – I’m your hype girl, your ally, your eyes and your ears on your wedding day. I’ll be there freaking out shouting “OMG HOT FIRE ALERT” hyping you up during portraits because holy-shit you look amazing AF! I’ll be dancing circles around your guests while I shove my camera in their faces, fixing your hair when the wind gets too cray, and confidently (and loudly) directing your family portrait time. 5 TIPS FOR PLANNING A JOSHUA TREE WEDDING OR ELOPEMENT

There are so many things to keep in mind when planning a Joshua Tree Wedding or Elopement! Here are 5 things you need to know about getting married in Joshua Tree National Park:

  1. All weddings and elopements require a special use permit. The special use permit is $120 and can be obtained by filling out an application at the National Park Service website under Permits & Reservations.

  2. Joshua Tree photography also requires a separate permit and is only allowed in the following locations:

    Indian Cove Amphitheater

    Hidden Valley Picnic Area

    Turkey Flats

    Cap Rock

    Quail Springs Picnic Area

    Split Rock

    Porcupine Wash

    Queen Valley Mine Intersection

    Lost Horse Parking Lot

    Live Oak Picnic Area

  3. Not all items are allowed in the park. Here is the list of items that Joshua Tree National Park’s website lists as permitted for a wedding:

    Arch, must be free-standing

    Small table for guest book

    Cooler with water

    Live flowers

    Battery-powered candles

    Runner

    Rug

    Cake

    Champagne

  4. Keep the weather in mind. You generally want to avoid the summer and winter months inJoshua tree. Since it’s the desert, it can be either extremely hot or cold and rainy, sometimes even snowing! The months with the best weather to get married in Joshua Tree generally are April, May, late September, and October.

  5. Book an airbnb close to the park. Joshua Tree National Park is such a large and expansive park, with so many beautiful areas to see! Book your short-term rental stay close to the park so you can maximize your time and take advantage of the scenery. Click here for my list of favorite airbnbs!

Rimrock Ranch is a stunning 36 acre ranch just outside of Joshua Tree National Park in Pioneertown, California.

Morada Joshua Tree is a luxury Spanish style estate.

Close to the West entrance of Joshua Tree National Park, Sacred Sands is complete with gorgeous sweeping views of the desert!

The Station Joshua Tree is a transformed 1949 service station with a super unique and eclectic vibe.

Boulder Grove Ranch is home to beautifully renovated barn surrounded by valleys of boulders and lush trees.
